A custom die line cuts the label to the exact shape your container needs. We hold thousands of die sizes in house, and when a project calls for a shape we do not already have, we order a new die for it.

What a Pressure Sensitive Label Is

Pressure sensitive labels are used in almost every industry, from household goods to beverages, pet products, spirits, food and so much more.

At its core, a pressure sensitive label consists of a liner, adhesive and face stock. To protect the printing, typically customers will also want a UV varnish or lamination on top of the face stock. We offer custom pressure sensitive labels in a wide array of different materials, ranging from the most basic, like paper, white, clear or metallized film, to the very unique, including textured wine stocks, holographic films and hemp infused paper, to name a few. At K. Sidrane, we have spent the last decade heavily investing in the specialty finishing side of pressure sensitive labels. Getting the Construction Right

The reason a pressure sensitive label succeeds or fails usually has nothing to do with the printing. It comes down to whether the face stock, the adhesive and the liner were chosen for the actual container, the actual application temperature and the actual conditions the product will sit in.

Face Stock

Paper reads as natural and takes texture well, which is why it dominates categories where the material itself is part of the message. White film holds color and survives moisture. Clear film gives the no label look, where the print appears to sit directly on the container. Metallized film brings shine without a separate foil pass. Textured wine stocks, holographic films and hemp infused paper each do a specific job for a specific category, and the stock is chosen for how the product is sold and where it lives rather than for how it looks on a proof.

Adhesive

Permanent, removable and resealable adhesives each behave differently depending on what they are stuck to. Our pressure sensitive labels are applied to a broad range of products, from glass jars to metal cans, cardboard boxes, plastic wrapping and PET bottles, and the same adhesive does not perform identically across all of them. Varnish and Lamination

To protect the printing, most customers add a UV varnish or a lamination on top of the face stock. That layer guards the print through handling and shelf life, and it also changes the look and feel of the finished label. Our extensive variety of specialty laminations means the same printed design can read matte, gloss, textured or soft to the touch depending on what sits over it.
