Custom Folding Carton Manufacturer · Farmingdale, NY
A beautifully printed box is the perfect way to up the ante on your product packaging. Custom folding cartons give you a second surface for the story the label could not hold, and a structure that protects what is inside while it does it.

A folding carton is a structural product wearing a graphic design job. The dieline and the board decide whether it works, and both get settled before anyone opens an art file.
Structure
Auto lock bottom folds flat and snaps into a base when it is opened, which is what you want when a carton is packed by hand at volume or has any weight in it. Reverse tuck and straight tuck are simpler and cheaper, and they are the right answer for light contents where the flap direction is a cosmetic choice rather than a load bearing one. A 1,2,3 bottom sits between them. Picking this first matters, because it changes the dieline, the glue pattern and how the carton behaves on a line.
Board
We run 16 or 18pt material thickness. The heavier board holds an edge better and feels more substantial in the hand, which is most of what people mean when they call a box premium. A window to view the product is one of the standard options and it is the single most persuasive thing you can do to a carton, but it removes board from a panel, so where it sits relative to the fold and the glue flap has to be worked out with the structure rather than after it.

A carton is almost never the primary package. It is doing one of three specific jobs, and knowing which one shapes the structure and the spend.
Health and beauty products, household goods like candles, specialty and high end food items and supplements often use boxes as a form of secondary packaging that adds an extra layer of luxury. The bottle or jar inside is doing the functional work. The carton is doing the shelf work, and it is where the foil, the soft touch lamination and the emboss earn their money because they are on the surface the buyer touches first. Foil stamping, emboss, deboss and our specialty overlaminate range are all available on cartons, and they come from the same books as the label on the product inside.
Manufacturers use a box to sell variety packs with multiple items bundled together. This is the case where the structure carries real weight and the auto lock bottom stops being optional. It is also where a window does the most work, because the whole proposition is what is in the box and how many. Auto lock bottom, reverse tuck, straight tuck and 1,2,3 bottom all run here, so the structure gets chosen for the contents rather than for what a converter happens to stock.
A box acts as a place to offer additional visuals or information that may not fit on a standard product label. Five printed panels instead of one label face means directions, ingredients, certifications and the brand story stop competing for the same square inch. For products with long regulated copy, that is often the actual reason the carton exists. If you are not sure what size you need, mail us the product and our graphic design team will draw the box around it.
If you are adding a label to the product inside the box, there is no better way to guarantee brand continuity than to purchase the whole gamut from the same vendor. The foil on the carton and the foil on the label come from the same book.
Mail us a sample and our graphic design team creates a custom size for your box. You do not need to arrive with a dieline.

16 or 18pt material thickness. The heavier stock holds a crisper edge and feels more substantial, which is usually what a brand means when it asks for a premium box.
Yes. Mail us a sample of your product and our graphic design team will create a custom size for your box to ensure the perfect fit. Most first cartons start this way.
Auto lock bottom, reverse tuck, straight tuck and 1,2,3 bottom. Auto lock bottom is the usual answer when the carton has weight in it or is packed by hand at volume.
Yes. A window to view the product is one of the standard options. Where it sits has to be worked out with the structure, because cutting board out of a panel affects how the carton folds and glues.
Specialty die cutting, spot UV, spot foil and luxury laminations are the standard add ons. Beyond those we run foil stamping in hundreds of colors, embossing, debossing, tactile and spot varnish, Kaleidoscope variable image and our specialty overlaminate range. Contact us for samples to see the special touches.
That is the main reason to buy both here. Printing them in the same facility on the same presses with the same foil and lamination stock is the only reliable way to keep the two looking like one brand.
